Sony kicked off CES 2011 by announcing plans to get 3D technology into the hands of consumers—and not just for watching TV. The company announced it would launch new 3D Bloggie and Handycam camcorders so that consumers can shoot their own 3D movies.

"3D is far more than a science fiction gimmick designed to make the special effects dominate the story," explained Sony Chairman HowardStringer. "3D mimic the real world." As such, he thinks that mainstream consumers will want to shoot their home movies in 3D.

The new head of Sony's U.S. Consumer electronics division, Phil Molyneux, said his goal was nothing less than to make Sony the number one consumer electronics company in the U.S. by 2013. "Our goal is to bring a totally new experience to consumers," said Molyneux. We will actively engage consumers in what has been a passive medium."

Sony also announced 27 new HDTVs last night, the majority of which support 3D and Internet connectivity. Twenty two of Sony's new models will ship with online connectivity built-in, either via WiFi or Ethernet. By match 50 million users will be connected to the Internet via Sony, Blu-ray, PS3 and HDTVs, indeed more than 50 million people worldwide connect to the Internet using a Sony HDTV, PS3, PC, or Blu-ray player.

The Bravia Internet Video platform now includes Sony's Video On Demand and Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity, Netflix, Pandora, HuluPlus, Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, Slacker Internet Radio, Crackle, and Many models also have Skype embedded, although you still have to purchase a camera separately.

Although they weren't discussed on stage, Sony is releasing a new line of connected speakers at CES as well. HomeShare is a collection of audio devices that will let you play audio files through your home from one shared music library or directly from the Internet.Sony's new HomeShare products include networked speakers (SA-N300, $200, and SA-N400, $300), a networks NAS device with a built-in iPod dock NAS-SV20i and NAC-SV10i), and a universal remote (RMN-U1) to control the system.

Networked home audio has been dominated by Sonos for many years, but Sony's HomeShare offerings could push the technology mainstream just like 3D.

not really, but in fact it is the opstoipe. If your headphones are really good then you can really compare which has the best sound quality. My uncle own a pair of Shure Se530, I didn't at first know what Shure is so I decide to plug them into my ipod. It made my ipod sounds so much better, but then I decided to plug it into my uncle's sony x walkman and wow! Goddamn, it made me want to trash my ipod and steal his walkman.

You people at ADOBE Aggravate ppl like me to no end. Flash plaeyr is N O T available to any device like you people say it is. As a metter of fact it is primitive at best. Take for example the Sanyo Incognito. Now it plays some of the best content on youtube. I love it. But when it comes to the part where I am prompted to download the Flash plaeyr? Sorry Flash plaeyr is not available for this platform or device or whatever. tvufrbsok [link=]imorqcea[/link]

Dan, you hit the nail on the head about Microsoft their arrogance is astnondiug. It was somehow gratifying to see Sony hand Microsoft their asses at E3. Within 24 hours of their announcement of the PS4, I'd already gone onto Amazon and purchased one as for the Xbox One, meh. So far I have no desire to get one.P.S. I'm so glad others have mentioned the greatest driving song ever, Radar Love. A close second would be Golden Earring's other hit, Twilight Zone (I know it has nothing to do with driving, but I dare you not to hit the gas while listening to it!)

I also wondered if u had to use control alt delete like on your computer if your tv screen freezes, but at the same time, I'll find out once I get my unit. In either case, thanks for sharing keep up the good work. gysnwv [link=]lyrxwa[/link]
